About

MHO Writing LLC was created in March 2008 by Melissa Hincha-Ownby as a result of increased demand for her freelance writing.  Melissa is a life-long writer and started her freelance writing career at the tender age of 13 when she was asked to submit a weekly column to her small town’s newspaper.  This sparked a love of writing in Melissa and she has been freelancing ever since.

Her writing varies depending on her audience.  She is currently the Feature Writer for the Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome topic at Suite 101 as well as a Featured Expert at DealingWithLearningDisorders.com.  As a parent of two children on the autism spectrum, Melissa has found much writing inspiration in her children.  She combines her passion for writing and the unique knowledge she has gained parenting special needs children to create informative articles on issues surrounding autism spectrum disorders.

In addition to writing on autism spectrum disorders, Melissa also creates web content for a variety of personal finance web sites.  Melissa understands the importance of search engine optimization (SEO) when creating web content and ensures that appropriate keywords are used in her articles.  This attention to SEO garners high search engine result ranks for her clients.

Melissa’s current freelance writing endeavors are not limited solely to web clients.  In recent months she has had a luxury travel article published in the Islander Magazine, a parenting article published in The Journal of Attachment Parenting International and a hiking-themed article published in the Gold Canyon Ledger.

Melissa’s portfolio is diverse and she has written articles on parenting, sports, entertainment, healthy living and more.  Whether you are looking for a technical piece, sales-themed copy or an informative article, Melissa can meet your needs.  For more information, including rates and turnaround times, please send an email to melissa [at] mhowriting [dot] com.
